Grades K-5. Youth living with and without disabilities will have the opportunity to express themselves through movement in a supportive, community-minded environment. You will find your voice and style through the lens of Hip Hop, gaining skills through technique and confidence in freestyling. Dancers will explore a breadth of styles (breaking, popping, locking, house) and get a glimpse into the history of the genre and its evolution. This high-energy class centers positive body awareness, creativity, teamwork, motor coordination, and personal expression.
Community Ed is not able to provide PCA level care or 1 on 1 assistance. If your dancer needs this type of care, adults and caregivers are more than welcome to join the class. This course is fully subsidized through grants from the American Rescue Plan.
Since 1987, Young Dance has encouraged youth in our community to build body and spirit through the art of dance. Our mission is to transform lives through movement. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes, encouraging personal and artistic excellence through diverse forms of dance.
